Principal's Message

Mr Tom Bagnall

Term 2 is well underway and has definitely bought the colder weather with it! Last week, all of our students presented themselves very well for our ANZAC ceremony and should be very proud of themselves. I am very confident that our upper primary students attending the Interschool Sports this term will also represent our school in a similar way, and look forward to visiting them during these events! I’ve also been very impressed with the work being produced in our Year 5/6 class, with lots of students coming to share their persuasive writing about why bike helmets should be worn.

Uniform

With the colder weather upon us, we are encouraging students to wear jumpers and longer pants to keep warm outside. Whilst non-school jumpers are ok to wear, we do ask that these be either plain royal blue jumpers (zip or pullover) or, school jumpers which are available from the P&C Uniform shop. Plain jumpers can also be purchased at relatively low costs from stores such as Big W or Kmart; in the case that students wear a different coloured jumper to school they may be asked to take it off when inside, or be sent to the office to see if there are any spares that can be borrowed.

Year 6 Camp - 2024

Very shortly, information will be going home to Year 6 families regarding this year’s camp activities. We have made every effort to keep the cost low, but as with everything else, this is higher than last year. Ms Henriques and Mrs Boardman have been hard at work organising these activities and I’m sure that the students will have a fantastic time!

Canteen Changes

As of Monday 13 May, the P&C association have made the decision to reduce the days that the canteen operates to ensure that it is financially viable. This means that from Week 5, the canteen will only operate on a Thursday and Friday.

We will send reminders about this via Class Dojo in the lead up to this happening to make sure that no orders are placed on the closed days.

Upcoming Dates – Term 2

This term has lots of dates set aside already, and a few more to be added! Some to be aware of so far are:

3 May – Magpies class assembly

9 May – Emus class visiting Girrawheen SHS

31 May – School Development Day

3 June – WA Day public holiday

4 June – 14 June – Swimming Lessons

I hope that everyone has a fantastic end to the week, and as always, please feel free to come in and speak with me if you have any questions or concerns.
