Yellow Group

Yellow Group has enjoyed learning about plants, listening to books, gardening and investigating the life-cycle of a plant. Children took part in a whole group experience working together to decide what plants need to survive, sequencing a picture of a plant and learning the names for different parts. Children then took part in an experiment, planting broad bean seeds in a glass jar and were fascinated in their texture using some wonderful descriptions including smooth and hard shell. We will continue to observe and record the changes in the seeds over the coming weeks. Several children chose to extend on their learning by planting carrot, lettuce and beans in the garden. We look forward to trying out some of our produce in the upcoming weeks.
