Education Support Day

In the lead up to international Education Support Professionals’ Day on May 16th this year, LHCS would like to acknowledge all the hard work and effort our ES staff do around the school. Education Support includes classroom support, administration and ICT staff, and our wellbeing team. The excellent work these staff do at LHCS is not always clear to the outside world, but we know the school would not run without them and we appreciate everything they do.

We are fortunate to have Brigette, Eva, Izzy, Jack, George, Megan and Molly as classroom education support staff at Lynall Hall. As well as support in the classroom, they work in numerous ways around the school: assisting individuals and groups of students, engaging and empathising with, and listening to students, attending and assisting in excursions, camps, morning teas and lunches, and so much more! We also have Elise as our Pathways & Transition Worker.

Currently our ES staff are working collectively on Learner Profiles where observations are made on how students learn, and how they can be best supported in the classroom.

Our Wellbeing education support staff, led by our Leading Teacher (Wellbeing) Noah, include professionals across a range of disciplines. These include our Mental Health Practitioner (Jen), Youth Workers (Seána, Zali and Riley), Art Therapist (Elle and Art Therapy student, Catherine), and school nurse (Tess). These staff are essential to the operation of our school and provide amazing support to our young people, helping to get them to school and thrive once they arrive.

The admin staff are the unsung heroes of any school and at LHCS we are lucky to have an exceptional admin team in Annette, Sharyn and Elsie, ensuring the smooth running of our school. Our ICT support team of Matt and Paul also work hard to keep our ICT operating efficiently and effectively.

We are grateful to all our ES staff for their contributions to the fabric of the school and look forward to celebrating them on May 16th.
