Upcoming Dental Van Visit - Richmond Campus

 

The Smile Squad team from North Richmond Community Health are coming to our school in May. Smile Squad is the Victorian Government free school dental program.

This means all students can get a free dental check-up, preventive services, and treatment.

 

How to access free dental care

Consent has been sent to parents/guardians via Compass. Paper copies of the consent form are also available. Please contact the school office if you would like to request one.

The electronic consent form can be translated into more than 100 languages, and the paper form is available in 13 languages.

 

Do I need to attend my child’s appointment?

No, you do not need to attend your child’s appointment. You can attend if you would like to, and you can take your child to the community dental clinic if you prefer.

The Dad Map Program

 

Relationships Australia Victoria is running a pilot program called ’The Dad Map’. This program supports dads and father-figures who are separated from their partner and/or family. Their next program will be hosted in Richmond, it commences on May 2 (next week) and they have 2 spots available. If you are interested in attending, you can register here. From there, they hold an intake meeting to see if the program is the right fit.

 

The Dad Map program aims to support dads who are navigating separation as well as kids, family and fatherhood. Across the program, they will talk about fatherhood, masculinities, managing conflict, bonding with kids, managing mental health, healthy relationships and building a future.

 

Dates: May 2 – June 6, 2024 (6 x weekly sessions)

Times: 6pm – 8pm (arrive at 5:45pm)

Venue: The Learning Bank, 124 Victoria St, Richmond.

 

Tuning into Teens 

 

A free six-session interactive online parenting group for parents and carers of adolescents presented by Berry Street.

 

Where: Online via video call (Zoom)

When: Wednesdays 12pm – 2pm, from 15th May – 19th June (6 consecutive Wednesdays)
