What's been happening this week?

AUTHORS AT WORK

The Year 1/2 students are really excited about the Writer’s Festival that is happening in Week 5 as part of Book Week.  Our budding authors started to brainstorm vocabulary and ideas for their narrative based on an image related to our class text- The Wizard of Oz.

In the coming weeks, the students will work through the writing process and complete a wonderful narrative that they will be able to share with other students and families.

CHICAGO

Wow, what a musical!  Our 5/6 students were lucky enough to be invited to see the dress rehearsal of Koonung Secondary College's school play, Chicago.  Fabulous!  Incredible!

INSPIRING ART

This week in Art, our students explored the vibrant world of Brazilian artist Romero Britto. Known for his joyful style that combines bright colours, bold patterns, and thick black lines, Britto’s artwork was the perfect inspiration for a project all about self-expression.

Students created colourful fish artworks in Britto’s iconic style, each one featuring a special element that represents something unique about themselves. This idea was inspired by the beautiful picture book There’s Only One You, which celebrates the individuality of every person.

Keep an eye out for our Britto-inspired fish swimming across the art room door during book week!
