NAIDOC Week
Across Prep to Grade 6, students have been celebrating NAIDOC Week in Auslan.
Our younger students used their Auslan colour knowledge to complete the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, while Grades 1–5 explored the significance of NAIDOC Week and what it represents. They made meaningful connections to the Auslan alphabet and learned new signs.
Grade 6 students investigated the links between Aboriginal art and Auslan, recognising that communication can go beyond speech and words. They designed their own boomerangs, using traditional Aboriginal symbols to tell visual stories.
