In Literacy, Grade One students are learning all about non-fiction texts. This term, we are focusing on information texts, with the exciting goal of writing our very own animal information report!
We began by learning the difference between facts and opinions. Opinions are what someone thinks or feels, and they often include words like like, dislike, think, believe, best, good, or bad. Facts are true and can be proven.
We are also linking our learning to our Curiosity topic – How are living things unique and what do they need to survive? As part of this, we’ve been exploring and writing interesting facts about ostriches, giraffes, fish, elephants, and lions. Did you know that ostrich's eyes are bigger than their brain?!
We hope you enjoy our factual sentences.
