A very warm welcome this week to our new Curriculum Leader – Senior Years, Mr Adrian Brown. Adrian comes to us from St Patrick’s College where he has held numerous roles, including Director of Pedagogy and Learning Innovation, and Director of Senior School. Adrian will primarily focus on student tracking across the senior school (Years 10-12). This includes the Year 10 preparation programs and subject selections. He will assist boys in subject selection and with their many pathway options in senior schooling. He is also an Old Boy of the college and an avid AFL fan. Welcome, Adrian!

The subject changes window is about to close for students in Years 9 and 10 who have decided to change elective subjects. If your son would like to change his subjects, please encourage him to visit the Academic Care Office (located under the Senior Library).
All subject changes need to be completed and submitted by Wednesday 23 July.
All SET plan interviews for our current Year 10 students and parents/carers should have now been either completed or booked for this week. If this is not the case, please contact curriculum@marash.qld.edu.au so we can organise a time to complete.
The myQCE competition opens on Monday 14 July 2025 and closes on Friday 19 September 2025. It offers Years 10–12 students a chance to win one of three prizes: a MacBook Air, an iPad Air with Magic Keyboard, or a pair of AirPods Max headphones. To enter the competition students must:

9ASH lessons at the end of Term 2 focused on Year 10 subjects. Year 9 students have investigated pathway planning and subject offerings in Year 10. Here are some key dates for our Year 9 students:
Marist Subject support tutoring begins again in Week 2.
Tutoring is offered by Old Boys and takes place from Tuesday to Thursday, 7:30am to 8:30am and 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Please find here a list of Old Boys who are available to tutor your son outside of school hours. This list can also be located on the parent portal or via this link. Please note it is the parent’s responsibility to organise and liaise tutoring times with the Old Boys.
There will be no Year 12 Night Study Session this week. This will recommence in Week 3, Wednesday night between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. As usual, students will need to sign in and out. They can arrive and leave at any time between 5:00pm and 8:00pm; but they are not able to keep coming and leaving during the night.
