From Your P&F

Walkathon – Sunday 10 August
Urgently needed – Walkathon Barracks Volunteers
The Walkathon is urgently seeking parent volunteers who can assist on the day in a Barracks-based role.
Priority to Finalise - Currently serving Defence and Queensland Police Service (QPS) member parent volunteers
For specific roles within the Barracks on the day of the Walkathon (must have current DCAC/ID Card). Please contact Jon Pollard, jon.pollard@defence.gov.au as soon as possible if you can volunteer in this capacity.
Finalise by 25 July – Course Guides (any parent)
Seated in pairs at various locations along the course to point out the direction for the next stage for anyone who may be unclear. Guides are transported into the Barracks from the Grandstand and picked up once all the walkers have come through. The cutoff date has been extended to this Friday 25 July. Please put your name in the SignUp link to volunteer.
Term 3 P&F Meeting
The date for the Term 3 P&F meeting is being finalised and will be advised as soon as possible.
The P&F are seeking someone to take over these two roles from 2026. Now would be a great time to come onboard to find out more.
- Sports Canteen – weekly call for volunteers – no obligation shadowing for 2025 (Please get in touch with Donna Lynn at PresidentPandF@marash.qld.edu)
- Card and Games Day – Raffle Coordinator – no obligation shadowing for 2025 (Please get in touch with Ann Rainbow on carddaypandf@marash.qld.edu.au)
Sports Canteen – Saturday 26 July
Please sign up for an hour behind the canteen if you have a game at MCA this Saturday. Just one hour per term if you have a son playing sport is all it takes to keep the food and refreshments flowing for our MCA and AIC families. Many thanks

Marist Card and Games Day - Wednesday 30 July
The P&F will be hosting our next Marist Card & Games Day on Wednesday, 30 July. To make these days a success, we need parent helpers to assist with baking or supplying items for morning tea and/or attending on the day to set up and serve our guests.
If you can assist with sweet or savoury baked goods (home-made or store-bought), they can be dropped off at the Br Cyprian Pavilion from 8:00am (or sent in with your son). Disposable containers are preferred but other containers will be sent back to Student Administration if not collected on the day (please ensure your name is on all containers). Please either pre‑cut items or ensure that they can be cut into bitesize pieces.
Volunteers for the day are needed for the following sessions:
- 8:00am – 10:30am – setup and serve morning tea
- 11:30am – 1:30pm – setup and serve lunch
- 2:00pm – 2:30pm – final clean-up and pack down
Volunteers are most welcome to assist for all or part of the day. It is a great way to meet other parents from many different year levels, as well as contributing to an enjoyable day for guests from the community.
We also conduct a raffle for which items are sought from parents or businesses (e.g. movie tickets, wine, coffee, chocolates, nice smelling things, vouchers, etc.). They can be sent into Student Administration in the week leading up to Card and Games Day. If you don't have time to shop, consider sending in a gift voucher (e.g. Coles Myer) and our Raffle Coordinator will source the prizes.
If you are able to help by baking/supplying items for morning tea, assisting on the day, or providing an item for the raffle, please contact Sue Hartfiel (0423 076 603) or Ann Rainbow (0411 482 792) at email: CardDayPandF@marash.qld.edu.au.
