Acting Principal Update

Thursday 19th June
Semester 1 Reporting
This afternoon, student reports will be accessible through Compass. I would like to acknowledge the dedication and effort our teachers invest each semester to ensure you receive comprehensive insights into your child's academic progress and areas for improvement. Compiling these reports is a meticulous and time-consuming process, but it is essential for providing valuable feedback to support student development.
Throughout the semester, our teachers have been assessing and reporting on students' progress as part of our continuous reporting practices. This approach goes beyond traditional grading by providing timely, reflective, and meaningful feedback that empowers students to understand their learning journey. Continuous reporting allows students to regularly reflect on their progress, set personal goals, and make informed improvements. Our teachers dedicate time to provide detailed assessments and feedback tailored to each student's needs, ensuring that evaluations are not merely for reporting purposes but serve as tools for growth and development.
It is recommended that you access a laptop or desktop computer to be able to properly see the reports and learning tasks. If you are using your phone, you will need to open in the browser which doesn’t seem to be as user friendly.
Parent-Teacher Interviews
We will be holding our parent-teacher interviews on Tuesday, 29th July, with bookings now available through Compass. This will allow you enough time to have a look at your child’s report and learning tasks before attending the meeting. If you need any assistance accessing the reports on Compass please contact your child’s teacher or the office.
Annie – The Musical!
Don’t forget to secure your child’s ticket to Annie – The Musical before tomorrow, Friday, 4th July. Just a deposit of $24 is due currently, with more information following once accepted, and the balance due next term. You are also welcome to use your School Savings Bonus for this event.
Please be aware that we will be unable to accommodate further ticket purchases after this date.
Celebration of Learning
WOW! What a fabulous afternoon we had celebrating the incredible learning of our students throughout Term 2. With an Under the Sea theme, it was truly impressive to see the creativity and effort each year level put into their work, from powerful tsunamis to mysterious sea monsters! A heartfelt thank you to our amazing community for braving the cold and wet weather to come out and support our students. Your presence made the celebration so special!
I'm sure we can all agree that the exhibition was an absolute highlight! We were fully immersed in an enchanting underwater world, brought to life by the creativity and hard work of the MCPS students, guided by our amazing staff. It was truly magical to witness the students' reactions as they stepped into the exhibition, seeing their faces light up as they discovered how each individual piece of work came together to form such an impressive, cohesive display. A proud and inspiring moment for everyone involved!
I would like to congratulateall staff for a fantastic display of student learning, and for all of their effort in preparation for the event, as it certainly was a celebration of learning! It was such a fabulous afternoon (despite the wintery weather), with a very special shout out to Kate W for her vision and hard work to bring this amazing event to life!! 🙏
Another shout-out to the fabulous staff and parents who stepped up to assist with tasks like making fairy floss, cutting bread, and handling various other responsibilities during the family event. Your willingness to volunteer and contribute exemplifies the true essence of Menzies Creek - community spirit. None of this would have happened without Sarah W organising all the delicious food and fantastic lucky dip for the family event. Thanks so much Sarah, your hard work was truly appreciated by all and we certainly missed you yesterday!
EDEC Soccer
Congratulations to our year 5/6 students for once again representing our school with pride and integrity, taking part in a wet, yet enjoyable soccer day against our network schools. We are very proud of you all and would like to wish our boys team all the very best as they progress through to the Division level of competition.
Wishing you all a wonderful as safe break!
