Welcome to Term 3

We are looking forward to another wonderful term of learning with your children. Throughout the weeks ahead, students will have the opportunity to participate in a range of engaging and meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, and growth. We value the continued support of our families and look forward to working together to help every child thrive, both academically and socially. There are lots of exciting events coming up:

Excursion

Stage 1 had an amazing time on their excursion to the Australian Museum! The dinosaur exhibition was a huge hit, with students fascinated by the life-sized skeletons and prehistoric displays. They also enjoyed a range of hands-on learning experiences, where they explored fascinating artefacts, examined specimens up close, and discovered more about Australia's natural history. It was wonderful to see the students' curiosity, enthusiasm, and excitement as they asked thoughtful questions and made connections to their classroom learning. The excursion was a memorable and enriching experience that brought our learning to life.

Note Taking

Stage 1 students have been developing their research skills by learning how to take notes from an audio information text about koalas. Students listened carefully to identify key facts, locate important information, and record their ideas using keywords and phrases. This activity helped students build their understanding of koalas while developing important listening, note-taking, and information-gathering skills to support future reading and writing tasks.

100 Days Brighter

Stage 1 recently celebrated 100 Days of Learning with a fun-filled '100 Days Brighter' theme! Students came to school dressed in bright, colourful clothing, filling our classrooms with smiles and vibrant colours. Throughout the day, they participated in a range of exciting 100-themed activities that celebrated how much they have learned and achieved over the past 100 days. From creative challenges and maths games to literacy tasks and collaborative activities, students had a wonderful time reflecting on their learning while making special memories with their classmates. It was a fantastic day of celebration, laughter, and learning!

NAIDOC Week

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, Stage 1 students participated in a meaningful whole-school assembly to recognise and celebrate the histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Following the assembly, students explored the significance of traditional Aboriginal symbols and how they are used to share stories and communicate ideas. They then created beautiful scratch artworks inspired by these symbols.
