Geography

This semester, our Kindergarten students will explore the world around them through fun and engaging geography activities. We’ll begin by learning about places in our local community, including school, parks, and shops. Students will discover how to describe the features of places, talk about where things are located, and discuss how places can be cared for. Through stories, mapping activities, and hands-on projects, students will develop their spatial awareness and sense of belonging.

Our aim is to encourage curiosity, introduce basic mapping concepts, and build an understanding of how people influence and care for their environment. We look forward to seeing our Kindergarten learners grow and enjoy their geography adventure in Semester 2!

Science

In Semester 2, Kindergarten students will be introduced to digital technologies in fun and engaging ways. They’ll learn about the basics of using computers and tablets safely and responsibly. Students will explore simple coding concepts, discover how to identify technology around them, and use digital tools to create and share their ideas.

Activities will include practising mouse and touch skills, learning how to open and close programs, and using age-appropriate educational apps. We will also encourage safe and respectful use of digital devices. Our aim is to build confidence and curiosity in using technology while developing important digital skills for learning and life!

Gymnastics

This semester, Kindergarten students will participate in gymnastics activities designed to build strength, balance, coordination, and confidence. Children will explore fundamental movement skills such as jumping, rolling, balancing, and stretching in a safe and supportive environment. Through fun games, obstacle courses, and basic routines, students will learn how to use their bodies, follow instructions, and work together.

Gymnastics helps to develop motor skills, body awareness, and teamwork. We look forward to seeing our Kindergarten students enjoy being active, learning new skills, and having fun in our gymnastics program this semester!

NAIDOC Week Activities

As part of our NAIDOC Week celebrations, Kindergarten students attended a special K–6 assembly. They enjoyed a wonderful performance by the Aboriginal Dance Group from Ashcroft High School, who showcased an Aboriginal dance and the amazing sounds of the didgeridoo. Following the assembly, students returned to their classrooms and created beautiful scratch art featuring Australian animals.

100 Days of Learning - We are 100 Days Brighter

What a wonderful milestone to celebrate! Our Kindergarten students marked 100 days of learning, becoming 100 days smarter, 100 days brighter, 100 days kinder, 100 days stronger, 100 days braver and 100 days sharper. After lunch, students enthusiastically took part in a variety of fun, hands-on activities, including mathematics challenges counting to 100, energetic fitness activities where they completed 10 different actions 10 times to reach 100, and a colourful 100-square colouring activity. It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, learning and celebration, as we reflected on how much each child has grown since the beginning of the school year. We are so proud of all they have achieved and look forward to many more exciting learning adventures together.
