PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Welcome back to Term 3! This is always a busy and exciting term, filled with many wonderful opportunities for our students to learn, grow and shine.
This week we are proudly celebrating Public Education Week. The theme for 2026 is Inspiring Excellence. Public Education Week is a special time for us to come together as a community to celebrate the strength, diversity and outstanding achievements of NSW public education — a system where every student is supported to learn, grow and thrive. At Green Valley Public School, we do this incredibly well, and we are proud of the inclusive and supportive learning environment we provide.
As part of the celebrations, we will be holding our Open Day on Wednesday. Parents and carers are warmly invited to visit classrooms to get a small glimpse into the wonderful work happening every day. Following classroom visits, we will come together for a K-6 assembly where Year 3 students will perform a special item for us. After the assembly, please join us for a picnic lunch on the school grounds, featuring a sausage sizzle and cake stall fundraiser to support the Year 6 end-of-year celebrations. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other families and enjoy some time together.
This term, part of our sport program includes a school-run gymnastics program designed to help students develop their balance and body control. Our classroom teachers have received specific training to ensure students get the most out of these lessons, building their physical skills in a safe and engaging way.
Dads, please save the date! On Friday of Week 7, we will be hosting our popular Donuts with Dad Father’s Day breakfast. More details will be sent out soon, and we look forward to welcoming you for this special event.
As always, I remind all families to prioritise safety during pick-up and drop-off times. Please use the pedestrian crossing and adhere to traffic rules to keep our students and families safe. Modelling safe behaviours is essential and greatly appreciated.
Finally, I would like to emphasise the importance of regular attendance. Attending school every day ensures that your child does not miss out on valuable learning, social connections, and school activities. We thank you for your ongoing support in helping your children arrive on time and ready to learn each day.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Here’s to a fantastic Term 3 ahead!
Warm regards,
Mrs Reilly
Relieving Principal
