Assembly
Class 4/5 with Kathryn
In reading during term 4 we have been analysing, evaluating, critiquing and making personal connections in texts. We decided as a class to read the book Rabbit, Soldier, Angel, Thief by Katrina Nannestad.
The story is abount a Russian boy called Sasha who lost his memory when he got hurt in the war against Germany.
Sasha collects items which help to remember what happened.......some memories are sad, but lots of memories are also very happy for him.
So today we wanted to present to you some information about our own special items....what they are, special memories we have with them, and how they make us feel when we hold, look or think about them
So as you can see....we have lots of items that have special meanings to us and our families. Things that can remind us of a special memory or give us a special feeling when we see or hold them.
Some of Sasha'a special items were a beetle, 12 matchboxes with ash, an ushanka, a brick, harmonica, feathers, flowers and a shovel.
We hope you enjoyed us sharing our special items, memories and stories with you.
Thank you to our assembly hosts Dandy, Annabelle, Tom and Elske.
