PBL ~ Care for the Environment!
At Holy Family, we strive to be God’s Stewards of Creation each and every day. We believe that God has a mighty plan for everything he has made, and that includes animals, nature and humans! Therefore, we have to make sure we don’t damage our planet and ruin His plan. This week the SRC is encouraging everyone to be more environmentally caring and help our world be happier and healthier. For example, we have the Green Team who helps grow plants in our veggie garden with the leadership of Mrs Edwards. We also have a Return and Earn program to raise money and recycle. We should all strive to care for our planet and conserve our environment, for the future generations and as a disciple of God .
Senior School Cake Stall
Every year, the Seniors bake homemade delicious treats, from cookies to cupcakes. This year’s goodies truly blew us out of the water, and they were filled with sweet delights! Lots of thanks to the Seniors and their parents who gave up their time and effort to bake these treats. The money raised will be used to buy food to pack St Vincent de Paul Christmas hampers for those who need it.
Special thanks to Ryunosuke, Sarah, Saahas, Rohan and Leon for their extremely generous donation of $100, earned with their hard work selling lemonade and muffins for an entire hour. We are so incredibly grateful for their efforts. Their kindness and compassion for those who needed it truly reflected how they acted as disciples
of Jesus.
One of our fantastic students Zander B in Year 6 has received a Young Historian Bronze award in the National History Challenge. The NHC (National History Challenge) is an exciting contest that encourages students to use research and inquiry-based learning to discover more about the past. In the competition you can investigate your community, explore your family’s past and consider ideas throughout history.
The NHC encourages the use of primary and secondary sources and offers a variety of presentation styles. It rewards students with generous cash prizes and travel opportunities. Zander decided to write about the Devonian period mass extinctions, focussing on Devonian mass extinctions, and what caused the death of 70% to 80% of all living animal species and 20% of families.
We congratulate Zander on his success.
Please be mindful that your child is wearing the correct uniform.
Please see the photos below of the uniforms at Holy Family.
Have a lovely weekend!
