Year 2 Communicators in Action

Last Friday, Year 2 students and teachers hosted a successful and joyful Writers Festival. The event was filled with warmth, as students and parents relaxed on cushions and couches, creating the perfect atmosphere to cuddle up and share stories. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their communication skills, an essential aspect of the IB Learner Profile. Our young writers shared their handwritten stories with enthusiasm and confidence, demonstrating their growth as communicators.

Throughout the writing process, students worked hard to express their ideas clearly and creatively using writing, reading, and imagery skills. During the event, parents joined in to listen as their children read aloud, highlighting the importance of both speaking and listening in effective communication.

A heartfelt thank you to all the parents and staff who supported the event. We can’t wait to see how our Year 2 learners continue to develop their communication skills in the future!

Year 2 Writers' Festival

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to write and share their very own stories with the school and parent community during the Writers' Festival.

Here are some reflections of the day:

On Friday, we shared our stories with Year 1 and 6 students and parents. My Year 6 buddy was a great communicator because he looked at me when I was reading. He also gave me a compliment. Yuvraj

During the Writers' Festival, I was a good communicator because I was talking nicely and answered questions clearly. My favourite part was when my parents came. Kriaan

I shared my book with Year 1, 2, 6 students and even the principal! I was a good communicator when listening to my partner and then they listened to me too. My favourite part was making a poster to welcome our parents. Shanaya

On Friday we were communicators as we shared our stories with our parents. We worked hard so we could show our knowledge to others. Maya
