Whole School Giving Mass
9.30am: St Joseph's Catholic Church
In the lead up to this date, it would be wonderful if we could make a difference to people's lives by donating items for Vinnies to make Christmas hampers for a few of the 3.3 million people across Australia who live in poverty. Importantly, the items our school donates support families in need in our community.
This year St Vinnies Junee requires assistance to create food hampers for the many people in our area.
Below is a list of items St Vinnies have suggested as ideal for donating:
Food | |
Christmas pudding Custard powder Tinned fruit Bon bons/Christmas Crackers Tea Coffee Milo Long life milk Sweet biscuits Candy canes Jelly Jams Long life juice Christmas cake Pancake mix Popcorn Chips | Cordial Lollies Couscous Cereal Dried fruit Fruit mince pies Savoury biscuits Tinned vegetables Confectionery Muesli bars Pasta Pasta sauce Vegemite Packets of chips Rice Wrapping paper Gift Bags |
Donations can be left in the office or given to class teachers anytime before the 13th of December.
Stage 3 Performing Christmas Carols
Cooinda Court
After the whole school Giving Mass, Stage 3 will walk to Cooinda Court to sing carols with the residents. Students need to pack a splash of Christmas eg. Santa hat, reindeer antlers.
Students will need to bring their water bottles and morning tea. We will stop in the park for morning tea and a break and then walk up the hill to Cooinda Court. Students will sing to the residence before they have their lunches. We will then walk back to school and return before lunch. In the case of rain students will be transported by private car.
