As Semester One ends, it is the perfect time for students, parents, and teachers to celebrate achievements, reflect on learning, and look ahead to new goals. We are excited to welcome families to our Learning Conferences next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, where we can share and celebrate your child’s learning journey together. Please note a friendly reminder that school will finish early at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, June 24th to accommodate these conferences.
Our recent school events were a tremendous success, starting with our Foundation students who had a wonderful time celebrating Sounds Day. They dressed up in bright, colourful costumes as animals and bugs to connect with their Unit of Inquiry, "How the World Works," enthusiastically showcasing their growing phonics knowledge through engaging activities. Additionally, many families visited for our Open Classroom Maths and Science Day this week to experience the learning taking place. Expertly guided by our STEM teacher, Mr Corey Tidd, students proudly shared their investigations, discoveries, and problem-solving skills, with many wearing "thinking hats" to celebrate their Unit of Inquiry.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our incredible teachers and staff. Your dedication, care, and commitment to supporting our students each day have made this a truly successful and rewarding semester. Looking ahead, please note that I will be taking Long Service Leave for the first three weeks of Term 3. During this time, I am leaving the school into the capable hands of Mrs Thornton, who will be acting principal. We cannot wait to begin Semester Two and look forward to all the exciting learning, growth, and opportunities it will bring.
Finally, we wish everyone a happy, restful, and safe holiday break. Semester One ends on Friday 26th June at 2:30 PM. Enjoy the opportunity to spend time with family and friends, stay active, and take care of one another. Monday, 13th July is a curriculum day for staff, and we look forward to welcoming students back to school, refreshed and ready, on Tuesday, 14th July.
