Respectful Relationships

As part of the Wellbeing Curriculum implemented across Sandhurst Schools each fortnight we will share topics being covered in the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) program.
Preps
Grade Preps have been talking about the importance of feeling safe and having people they can turn to when they need help. They have identified five people they can ask for help from, when they need it.
Grade 1 & Grade 2
Grade Ones and Twos have been learning about ‘Real World Problems’ and have identified strategies to help them resolve problems. This incorporated identifying possible sources of help for problems and role-playing some help-seeking strategies. The children came up with ways they could solve problems. For example, if there is a disagreement in the yard, they could go over the rules again or do ‘Paper, Rock, Scissors’ or they could ask a teacher for help.
Grades 3/4
In Respectful Relationships, the students looked at ‘R U OK!” this day teaches children how to be good friends, identify feelings and support one another.
Grade 5 and Grades 6
In Respectful Relationships, the Grade 5s and 6s have been looking at ‘Positive Coping’ during our RRRR lessons. In particular, discussing strategies they could use when faced with difficult or challenging times in their lives, and in particular in social situations. Students have also been helping each other by thinking of advice they could give in these situations.
