Prep - In Term Three, students are focusing on physical sciences - the study of non-living things. They will be investigating how things move. During the first week of term, we discussed what a movement was and students had the opportunity to test a variety of toys to see how they moved. You can encourage your child at home by asking them to describe different types of movements they are making or objects are making.

Year 1s - In Term Three, students are focusing on digital technologies, specifically how to solve simple problems using a Tale-Bot Pro robot. During the first week of term, they were taught how to program the Tale-Bot Pro robot and used their understanding to make the robot move between specific locations.

Year 2s - In Term Three, students are focusing on digital technologies, specifically how to solve complex problems using a Tale-Bot Pro robot. During the first week of term, they revised their understanding of how to program a Tale-Bot Pro robot and used their understanding to make the robot move between multiple locations.

Year 3s - In Term Three, students are focusing on digital technologies, specifically how to solve simple problems using a VinciBot robot. During the first week of term, they were introduced to the VinciBot robot and basic block coding to move the robot. Students created a simple code on their computers, connected a VinciBot robot, downloaded their code and then had the robot move.

Year 4s - In Term Three, students are focusing on digital technologies, specifically how to solve simple problems using a VinciBot robot. During the first week of term, they revised their understanding of how to program the VinciBot robot and used their understanding to create a code of their choice on their computers and then download to the VinciBot robot.

Year 5s - In Term Three, students are focusing on digital technologies, specifically how to solve problems using a micro:bit. During the first week of term, they were introduced to the micro:bit and the basic blocks. Students created simple codes on their computers, connected a micro:bit and downloaded their code.

Year 6s - In Term Three, students are focusing on digital technologies, specifically how to use peripheral devices to solve problems using a micro:bit. During the first week of term, they revised their understanding of how to program the micro:bit and used their understanding to create a code of their choice on their computers and then download to the micro:bit.
