Education in Faith

Sacrament of First Eucharist
At the beginning of Term 3, our Year 4 students will celebrate the Sacrament of First Eucharist alongside candidates from across St Peter's Parish. This special occasion marks an important milestone in their faith journey as they receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the first time.
Celebration
The St. Peter’s Parish First Eucharist candidates will be receiving the Sacrament of First Eucharist at St. Monica’s College, 400 Dalton Road Epping, in the College Stadium on Saturday August 1st, 2026.
- The Mass will begin promptly at 12:00pm.
- Doors will open at 11:15am
- Candidates and their immediate family must arrive before 11:30am
- All other guests must arrive before 11:45am for an immediate start at 12:00pm.
Sacramental Stole
Each candidate who received the Sacrament of First Reconciliation last year was supplied with a white stole. You will need to use this stole again for First Eucharist, and then Confirmation. The stole can be kept plain or families can decorate the stole together.
On this stole you can choose to add one or more of the following:
- A symbol for Eucharist (such as, Bread, Wine, Chalice, Grapes)
- The date of the Sacrament
- The name of the Sacrament
Mass Attendance
As we prepare for these celebrations, we remind families that the Sacraments are celebrations of the whole Catholic community. Across the Parish communities of Epping, Epping North and Wollert, families are invited to participate in Parish Masses as part of their sacramental preparation.
During these Masses, candidates will be welcomed and prayed for by the Parish community as they take this important step in their faith journey.
Family Faith Night
We thank our families for their support and look forward to celebrating this special occasion together as a Parish and school community.
Christ Within Me
Throughout Term 2, our Religious Education theme has been "Christ Within Me." This theme invited students to reflect on the presence of Jesus in their lives and to consider how they can reveal Christ through their words, actions, choices and relationships with others.
Across the term, students explored what it means to be people of faith who live with kindness, compassion, courage and service. They were encouraged to recognise that Christ is
present within each of us and that we are called to share His love with those around us.
Each year level connected their Religious Education learning to this theme in meaningful and age-appropriate ways. For our Year 4 and Year 6 students, who continued their journy of Faith in the Sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation, the theme of Christ Within Me was especially significant. Through their sacramental preparation, students deepened their understanding of God's presence in their lives and the ways the sacraments strengthen their relationship with Jesus and the wider Church community.
As we conclude the term, we give thanks for the many opportunities our students have had to grow in faith and understanding. We are proud of the way they continue to recognise and share the presence of Christ within themselves and in those around them.
