Year 3 Campers Return!

Congratulations to all of our Year 3 students for successfully navigating their first school camp at Phillip Island! For some of our students, this camp represents a first night away from home; another reason why a school camping program is so important and valued. Sincere and heartfelt thanks are extended to the Year 3 Camp Team of ASPS staff - you have given our students an experience that they will treasure for a lifetime!

Thank you to our Parents Association and Volunteers!

Our sincere gratitude to the parent volunteers who helped at our referendum sausage sizzle on Saturday October 14 lead by Annie Strauch & Kitty Yu.

Your planning, positivity & tong-turning is recognised. We could not run these events without your support!

Would you like to support future events, and join our merry bunch of volunteers?

HATS ON in Term 4

Students are required to wear a hat when outdoors in Term 4 and Term 1.

Unfortunately, UV exposure during childhood and adolescence has a big impact on future skin cancer risk.

If your child does not have an Auburn South sun hat, please purchase one from our Uniform Shop in person on Friday morning or via Flexischools.

Students will need to remain in the shade at break times if they do not have a hat on.

New autism resources to support students starting school

'Neurodiversity is about celebrating and embracing difference and diversity across humankind, and looking at how we can support neurodiversity across all contexts.'

— Dr Beth Saggers, Professor, School of Early Childhood and Inclusive Education, Queensland University of Technology

The Student Wellbeing Hub has recently launched a new suite of free resources that provide information for families, educators and students to support young people on the autism spectrum (diagnosed or undiagnosed) as they begin their primary school journey.

Find comprehensive content for families and educators, featuring FAQs, videos, actionable tips, and more at:

https://studentwellbeinghub.edu.au/autism/

Do you have any old spare POTS, PANS and SPOONS?

The kids at the cubby are in need of some cooking equipment to play with!

Please bring in anything you have that we can use - wooden spoons, child-friendly utensils,  small pots & pans or even fairy-garden gear  would be greatly appreciated!

Afternoon pick-up by 3.45pm

The expectation is that all students are collected from school by 3.45pm unless theyare enrolled in Camp Australia or anotherafter-school program.

Staff supervise pick-up areas between 3.30pm and 3.45pm and need to move into professional learning sessions and other school meetings at 3.45pm.

Please contact the school office if you are running late and if there is a risk of your child being left unattended.

Families are of course welcome to use the front playground but children must be supervised.
