In English, Term 4 is a time to consolidate and cement understanding. 

We will continue to provide explicit teaching through our targeted mini-lessons and allow for student agency via the Reader's and Writer's Workshop.

In reading, students will participate in author studies, comparing and contrasting texts as well as exploring tone, fluency and strengthening their comprehension skills. Our writing sessions will explore speech writing as well as advertising in preparation for the Year 5/6 Fun Fair.

Sessions will also have teachers roving and conferencing individually with the children to ensure that they have any support or encouragement they need.

Our spelling sessions will incorporate the spelling rules previously taught to strengthen our writing, as well as formal and informal language to assist with writing advertisements for our Fun Fair.
