Springvale Campus - Visual Arts
This semester students on Springvale Campus explored various drawing and collage techniques in artmaking.
FLC students participated in textiles, modelling and printing units to make artworks inspired by their imagination and picture storybooks including 'Elmer and Snap', and the indigenous story 'The Echidna and the Shady Tree'. They manipulated modelling materials, changing the shape, colour and texture to create three dimensional models. The students also experimented with printing materials such as mono prints, to make imaginative art.

Textiles
JLC students participated in textiles, modelling, printing and painting units. They used simple threading and weaving to stitch pictorial images. The students explored the qualities of different modelling materials and processes to produce three-dimensional models. They discussed and used printing techniques and created symmetrical stencils, and printed images onto textile surfaces to express their ideas. They used art elements such as colour and shape to design and paint images inspired by Piet Mondrian.

Printing & Textiles
MLC students focused on the use of art skills and processes in art making. They used weaving looms to create textile art. MLC students discussed the physical properties of various modelling materials and used coil and bonding techniques to make three-dimensional coil pots and imaginative models. In print making, students explored with art elements and used printing techniques to produce imaginative monoprints.
Modelling
Textiles and Printing
SLC students planned and made artworks using textiles and modelling techniques and processes. They used slab modelling techniques and solved problems associated with the changing properties, texture and form to make three dimensional cylinder pots and designs. The students applied dry felting techniques and art elements to the creation of textile designs and artworks
Our SLC Art Captains Jazell, Lina and Michelle, have been doing a fantastic job of creating artwork as part of the display for the 2023 Interfaith Festival.
