My Time, Our Place, Framework for School Age Care in Australia, V2.0. 2022
Belonging, Being & Becoming. Providing Play and Leisure experiences that give opportunities for children and young people to learn as they discover, problem solve, create, improvise, imagine and act with confidence.
Good morning, afternoon or evening,
In OSHC news we have started having Staff Trivia at our staff meetings, this is because our staff love games and they are very competitive.
We have a game that we bought a while ago from the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority. It has various questions about meeting the National Quality Standards, I won't bore you with those ones for now.
Instead, we like to start our Trivia game with the Wild cards, as they have more social and emotional style questions on it.
We thought you might like to play along?
I'll go first:
What was your favourite character to role play?
Lexi: 'We used to play or act out Star Wars, I always chose to be Yoda, because I liked the idea of being able to do martial arts and levitate...'
Describe your biggest childhood fashion Faux Pas.
Emily: 'Wearing leggings with denim shorts!'
What was your childhood nickname?
Tom. P. : 'Plugga!'
If you were to build a playground for adults, what would you like it to include?
Sarah: 'A twisty slide and a ball-pit.'
What was your favorite story book when you were little?
Wendy: 'The Famous 5 and Hairy Maclary.'
What was your favorite game to play?
Thomas. F. ' Board and card games!'
What outdoor game did you like to play?
Emma: 'Hide ' N ' Seek! and Sardines.'
So as you can see, we were an interesting bunch of individuals and still are! Next term we have a staff member back from their teaching placement so it will be great to see Ebony again!
Mini House Keeping:
Direct debit was Wednesday 13th, next one is over the holidays in two weeks time on 27th September, then we are back at OSHC on the 2nd of October.
The Children's' program:
We have been enjoying the cool mornings with warm milos, then the warm, sunny afternoons have been just right for outdoor playing.
Over to Sarah.
On Wednesday OSHC educators and students participated in the RSPCA Cupcake month fundraiser. After a couple years break, this marked our 13th year raising money for the RSPCA and all the animals they help each year.
This fundraiser is one of our major community projects throughout the year and aims to teach children about the importance of giving back to others and supporting community groups in their local area. As well as this it is a chance to further develop skills working with money and encourages teamwork, good communication, creativity and leadership.
Our cakes were baked onsite in the morning and decorated with an animal theme in mind by students in the afternoon at After Care. The animal inspired cakes are then taken out to our student run cake stall and sold to families throughout the afternoon.
There was an excitement in the air with students eager to get involved for a good cause. After a busy afternoon selling and decorating we are very, very happy to announce we raised a total of $271.85 to help the RSPCA continue their invaluable work helping animals great and small.
Thanks Sarah for all your hard work baking and organising Cup Cake Day!
Thankyou to everyone who purchased a cupcake and to the students for their hard work!
Take a look at our master pieces!

Many thanks to our many helpers who collected donations to help look after puppies and kittens in need. Many thanks to all of the parents that went out of their way back to the car or home to help contribute!
I hope you R OK, please stay Okay over the holidays all and see you back at OSHC on the 2nd of October, Term 4, remember to bring HATS!
Kind regards
Lexi
