Most of the clay teddy bears made by the Grade 3 and 4 students have gone home now, hopefully they have found a safe place on your child’s bedside table or bookcase, they were such a delight to make and they should each be treasured. There are a few teddy bears that are still looking after the art room over the holidays, but they won’t be lonely because there are 150 aliens on the shelves, waiting their turn to be finished and brought home safely!

Although not quite finished as the Grade 5 and 6 students wanted to take their time painting them, they are already starting to look quite magnificent! Every single alien looks unique with different features added such as horns, teeth, spikes, tails, claws, tentacles and much more. Patterns and textures have been added to their skins to make them look spotty, stripy or scaly. Each student chose a colour theory to paint their alien eg: complementary, analogous or triadic and are using a Viponds gloss to paint them. The younger students have taken great delight in coming into the art room and looking at these aliens, but don’t worry, their time for modelling clay will come next term. In the meantime, here are some nearly finished aliens to enjoy.
