CURRICULUM FOCUS
This week in Reading students will be focusing on inferring character feelings.
VOCABULARY
Inferring: when we use what we already know and clues in the text/pictures to work out how a character is feeling.
Character: any important person, animal or figure in a story.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
Choose a story at home (child’s library book or another book you may have) and read the book together. As you stop at different points in the story and discuss with your child how they think the characters are feeling at each page you stop at and ask your child to share why they think that or how they know.
