Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

The sun has come out and the children have been enjoying playing outside together.

Congratulations to Hazel A and Amelia C who went to the Regional Athletics this week. Both girls showed amazing effort and sportsmanship on this day. Congratulations to Hazel who came first in shot put and will move to the state level in a few weeks.

Our year 6 children who are making their Confirmation met the Bishop. The children were asked about the Saint they had chosen for their Confirmation name and to talk about the gifts and fruits of the Spirit. Congratulations to the families, teachers , Mrs Winduss and the children who were able to show how well they are prepared for this Sacrament.  On Friday the children are going to John Paul College  for the Confirmation retreat day for reflection and celebration of the Sacrament they will receive on Sunday at 4pm.

The 1/2 children visited  the Melbourne Museum for an excursion about Toys on Friday. A wonderful time was had by all of them. Blake told me he liked seeing the dinosaur skeletons and the skipping ropes in Grandma's toy box.  Thomas H liked the toys at the Museum.

Owen said there was lots of toys like dolls and toy soldiers. Audrey told me the whale bones, dinosaur bones and haunted house were interesting. She said the whale bones were huge!

Patrick's favourite thing was sleeping on the bus!

The P&F team have been sending out information for the market via seesaw. The rosters have already gone up so please add your name where you can. Please be prepared to read all information regarding this wonderful community event.

Today we had the little people from Nido daycare come for a visit with Foundation. It was very busy and lots of fun. Thankyou to the teachers who arranged and supervised this visit! What a great way to build community partnerships!

Thank you Mrs Winduss for a lovely Mass last week. It is wonderful when we can celebrate together as a community.

We move to Summer Uniform this term and as part of that hats are to be worn when the children are outdoors. Our recommendation for hats are the Legionnaire Caps as they stay on more effectively. These can be purchased through the uniform company in Carrum Downs. Address in news page.

We have a "No hat, no play" policy.

A reminder that dogs are not allowed on the school grounds. If you bring your dog to school please make sure to tie him/her up outside the gate.

Next week teachers begin end of year individual testing with our children in preparation for writing reports. This testing allows us to record the growth your children have made in all aspects of their learning and gives next years teacher a point to start working with children in the early part of first term.

Rod sends his best wishes to all the families and says he is enjoying his time away.

God bless

Sally Thomas

Acting Principal
