Congratulations to Year 7 Science

During National Science Week, the Australian Seismometers in Schools network ran a competition for all schools with an AuSIS seismometer to record an earthquake. Seeing as earthquakes are random,  AuSIS asked the schools to use their feet and jump up and down to make the earthquake.

Two year 7 classes from MCC used the rhythm from We Will Rock You by Queen to synchronise their earthquake and have been awarded the Best Rhythmic Jump by AuSIS for 2023.

The prize for the competition was a copy of Shaping a Nation, A Geology of Australia, which is the definitive resource for the geology of our great country.

This is going straight to the library for all our students to use.
