Matilda - our musical sensation!
After two performances of Matilda the musical, it is difficult to imagine how any of us could be any prouder to be part of the Beaumaris Primary community. In many years of education I have not seen such young people perform with such skill and confidence. Thank you to our Year 6 students for entertaining us, making us laugh so much and tear up a little. Of course, this week's performances were the culmination of a year of hard work and we have been privileged to witness their dedication to ensuring this was a magnificent production.
Thank you parents for your support of your children and to our incredible staff who all found a way to contribute to the success. Our Year 6 teachers nurtured their students throughout the year and made them feel like the stars they really are.
Finally Caroline Rothberg, we are all so appreciative of your gifted and passionate dedication to providing this memorable experience.
Today is World Teachers Day so we are pleased to take the opportunity to do something we are mindful of every day - celebrate the skill and dedication of teachers at Beaumaris Primary. Since stepping from a secondary education background, a very different context, I have been in awe of primary teachers ability to forge strong relationships with students they care for each day and develop diverse approaches to cater to individual needs. Beyond the classroom at Beaumaris Primary, our teachers are so giving in ensuring students have wonderful opportunities for engagement, further learning and fun.
I know we all applaud our teachers, as we did at a special morning tea to honour them.
Our student well-being leaders have approached us with the beautiful idea of a fundraising event. It is called ‘Colours for a Cause’. The event is being organised in honour of Sarah Foster. On Friday 3rd November students will wear a colour that makes them feel happy or inspires them. All proceeds will be donated to Sarah Foster’s charity – Fare Share. Fare Share provides nutritious meals for those who are experiencing financial hardship. Sarah would be so impressed by the spirit of our students.
It is timely to remind parents of the need to take care and obey speed restrictions and parking signs in the vicinity of our schools for the safety of our school children.
With the increased congestion on our roads, it is important that parents understand their responsibility specifically relating to 40KM zones, Traffic signals, drop off and no stopping zones around your school. We also encourage all pedestrians to use the school crossings and follow supervisor instructions at all times.
Council provides School Crossings services between 8 – 9:30am in the morning & 2:30 – 4pm in the afternoon.
We are working towards establishing staffing for 2024 and determining student numbers is essential. Our numbers at Beaumaris Primary remain strong, but if you are aware your child or children won't be with us next year, it would be very helpful if you could let our office admin team know as soon as possible. Thank you.
