ASX Share Market Game

The ASX student share market game has wrapped up for Semester 2 and the top three students at the College were awarded with vouchers at the whole school assembly. The game works just like the real Australian share market, except students are given 50,000 virtual dollars to invest and try to grow their portfolio.

A special mention to Year 7 Ethan L who outcompeted tens of thousands of students across Australia to take out 1st prize in the nation for the ASX share market game, earning himself $1000 in prize money. Despite the average Australian student finishing the game with a shrunken portfolio of $48,000, Ethan’s strategy of investing in the volatile Uranium industry saw him finish with a portfolio value of over $65,000!

Ethan also impressed when he delivered an epic speech about his investing strategy to the whole school assembly!

Congratulations to the winners. Any students can sign up to participate, even if they are not in a commerce elective class. The next game starts mid-Term 1, 2024.
