Year 4 Update
Upcoming learning:
During the next fortnight, Year 4 students are undertaking learning in the following areas:
Reading: We will be making connections and choosing a good fit book.
Writing: We will be learning about narrative writing.
Maths: In the next two weeks will be refreshing our knowledge on place value.
Inquiry: Our topic this term is 'How do I develop my identity?'
Students will be investigating who they are and how they have changed to help them navigate challenging situations. They will also explore how their identity has been created and is changing as they grow.
S.E.L: We will be focusing on the difference between a growth and fixed mindset and how to use our strengths when faced with a challenge.
News and reminders:
Reading Homework: Students are encouraged to be reading 15 minutes each night and recording their reading in their school diaries. We ask that parents please sign diaries at the end of the week to acknowledge that your child has read for at least 3 nights.
Hats: Please remember hats are required in Term 1 until April. Students without hats will be asked to sit/play under the shade sail on the courtyard steps. They will also not be able to participate in Year 4 sport on a Friday without a hat.
Drink bottles: Please remember to bring a drink bottle to school every day. It saves disruption to your child's learning when this is accessible within the room. They are able to fill up their bottles in a nearby classroom.
Meet the teacher: Tuesday 13th February. Classrooms will be open from 3.30-4.30pm, we would love to see all families pop in to have a look around your child's classroom, meet their teacher if you haven't already yet, and get a feel for Year 4.
