Uniform
As a Catholic Girls’ school in the tradition of Mary MacKillop, we have designed a school uniform that is contemporary and promotes choice and personal responsibility. Mary MacKillop believed that all were to be treated equally and with respect. At Mount St. Joseph Girls’ College, our students wear the uniform with pride and personal self-respect. A uniform promotes a sense of belonging and fosters community. It makes our students identifiable and can create team spirit. It expresses to our community our shared story and experiences; it teaches our learners to be mindful of how they represent themselves to the world and promote personal pride - these are important life skills.
The uniform has been designed to be trans-seasonal, that is, there is no designated winter or summer uniform. We have provided students a choice of either wearing trousers, shorts, dress, shirt or skirt. Students can either wear a long or short sleeve school shirt. The skirt or dress must be hemmed to the knee.
