Learning Resource Centre

The place for everything

The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is a vibrant space offering seating both for study and silent reading along with class spaces where teachers deliver information and literacy skills programs; guided support to access and use online and offline collections and, individual tuition during study periods for senior students.

 

The LRC maintains a diverse and current resource collection available for use by students and staff online and offline. The collection consists of:

  • Books and e-books
  • Online subscription databases
  • Journals and magazines
  • DVDs and CDs

Students may borrow up to five items at a time for two weeks or over the school holidays. Items may be renewed any time on or before the due date for a further week unless reserved by another student. Students are encouraged to recommend novels and books for inclusion in the LRC collection.

 

Overnight loans are provided for study guides and reference materials and should be returned by 9.00am the following day.

 

Learning Support Officers and the Teacher-Librarian supervise and support student studies during Homework Club each afternoon. Students sign in at the circulation desk to attend each afternoon. After hours support to students by teachers as arranged, is also conducted in the LRC.

 

The LRC runs many clubs during lunchtimes and afterschool. Lunchtime activities may include Chess Club, Writing Club, Technology Club, Gaming Club, Years 8-12 Photography Club, Junior & Senior Technology Club and Maker Space activities. After school clubs include Homework Clubs and Tutoring.

 

Opening times:

8:00am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday

8:00am - 4:00pm Fridays

Open at recess and lunchtimes.
