Professional Developments Days For staff in 2024

There are 5 days each year that are agreed on by the Department of Education. We have tried, where possible, to tag some of these days onto a Public Holiday so are parents are less impacted. It is hoped that this may also give families the opportunity to “get away” for a holiday and return when the roads are less congested:

The following days have been approved by School Council for Rollins staff asProfessional Development:

Monday29th January-1st day after Christmas holidays- Victoria wide PD Day. Students return on Tuesday 30th January.

Wednesday 24th April- day before ANZAC Day- Literacy/Numeracy PD Day

Thursday 21st November- Report Writing Day

Friday 20th December- Wellbeing PD/ First Aid Training for all staff/ Planning 2025 (Students finish on Thursday 19th December at 3.30pm)

Grade 6 Graduating Students

Finally, congratulations to each and every Grade 6 graduate. I have no doubt that you all have the potential to achieve great things - be confident and strive to be the very best you can be. You have so many great experiences ahead of you - make the best of every opportunity.

Many Thanks

At the end of this year, we say farewell to some of our staff who are taking on new adventures.

Rachael Nimmo has decided to pursue a year away from teaching and move into the world of engineering. Alesha Hodgson has also decided to take some time away from full time teaching to spend some time with her family as they are growing up very quickly. I know this has been a very difficult decision for both staff members. They have been valuable members of our school community and have contributed a great deal to the students in their care. Best of luck to you both and many thanks for all you have contributed to our Rollins community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Rollins community for their support during 2023. We have achieved so much this year as a community and are looking forward to 2024 with a great deal of hope.

For those over the Christmas period who are experiencing difficult times, or know someone who is, please reach out and get the help and support you need. Know that you are not alone and are worthy of kindness and a helping hand.

Again, thank you so much for your support.
