YEAR 6

This term has had a very sporty start with some of our athletes representing the at both school, diocesan, and Polding levels for swimming, cross country, hockey, netball and rugby. We congratulate these students on the efforts and sportsmanship they have shown at these events. We enjoyed being able to watch Ivy Thomas, Ivy Rodda, Sofia Michell, Tilly Klasen and Campbell Judd last Friday representing the Polding hockey team via a video link on Friday. 

We have been focusing on persuasive writing this term and in the first few weeks students were able to design their own advertisement. They needed to include a range of advertising techniques and then be able to annotate and explain the choices they had made. 

Students have been enjoying exploring coding this term in Science and have been experimenting and learning via tutorials on Scratch. They will be designing their own interactive games or posters in the coming weeks and at the end of the term the whole school will be able to enjoy playing these Makey Makey games. Our students were enthusiastic to share some of this work with their parents at the open classrooms morning.
