WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING: In Week 7, GSPS celebrated Reconciliation Week with this year's theme being "Now More Than Ever". We learnt that the word reconciliation means 'to come together in friendship and harmony' and participated in a range of activities. We began Reconciliation Week with a speech given by Mr Luke Berger, a parent at GSPS and Director of the Clontarf Academy at GSHS about what reconciliation means to him. What a great way to begin our special week, thank you Luke!
DATE CLAIMER: GSPS NAIDOC Day will be held on Wednesday the 19th of June at school. This year's theme is "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak! Loud and Proud' which celebrates the survival and relentless spirit of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. The whole school will participate in a range of cultural activities including taking part in 'Artist in Residence' breakout workshops with Cheryl Moggs, renowned Bigambul artist creating and designing a piece of artwork and Dub Leffler a Bigambul/Manmandanji author/illustrator/animator/mixed media artist who will speak with the children about his work.
