Celebrating Achievements and Fostering Growth in Term 2

This term has been filled with numerous academic milestones and accomplishments. Our students continue to demonstrate the required commitment to their studies, consistently striving for their personal excellence. We continue to be incredibly proud of everyone for their persistence, and determination to their learning growth.

In addition to their educational aspirations, I would like to extend congratulations to all the students who performed in our recent Dance Night. This event was a stunning showcase of the strength and vitality of the performing arts programs available at Melbourne Girls’ College. The performances were nothing short of spectacular, highlighting the immense talent and hard work of our students.

Our Dance Night was not just a celebration of dance but also a celebration of the collaborative spirit that is at the heart of our school community. It was a night when students, teachers, and families came together to support and celebrate the incredible talents of our students. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this event a resounding success, from the performers to the teachers and staff who supported them.

On Friday 17 May we recognised IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism, and Transphobia). This important day serves as an important reminder of our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students. At Melbourne Girls’ College, we stand together against discrimination and celebrate the diversity that makes our community strong. We thank our Diversity Student Leadership Team for championing this day.

As we look ahead, I want to wish our Year 10 and 11 students all the best for their upcoming exams. Your habits, dispositions, and perseverance will undoubtedly pay off. Additionally, to all students who will be sitting the GAT (General Achievement Test) in a few weeks, we wish you the best of luck. Remember to stay focused, prepare thoroughly, and approach your exams with confidence.

Lastly, please be reminded that Friday, 14 June, is Report Writing Day. This is a student-free day, providing our teachers with the necessary time to complete student assessments and prepare reports. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Thank you to our wonderful school community for your ongoing support. Let us continue to work together to create an environment where our students can thrive both academically and creatively.
