Sports Report - Round 5 (Thomastown East)

This past week, the students of Lalor East Primary School demonstrated great enthusiasm and skill in their winter sports matchups against Thomastown East Primary School. Our teams faced tough competition, but they showed determination and sportsmanship throughout the games.

 

Volleyball

Boys Team: Coached by Shona, our boys fought hard in a challenging match but were overcome with a score of 1-2.

 

Girls Team: Under the same coaching, the girls' team excelled, securing a solid 2-0 victory against their opponents.

 

Netball

Mixed B Team: Coached by Hannah, the mixed team struggled this week, with a tough 1-11 loss.

 

Girls Team: Displaying remarkable skill and coordination, the girls dominated their game, winning impressively with a score of 28-6.

 

Soccer

School Team: Under Mr. Sharples' guidance, our soccer team faced a hard match, ending with a 2-12 loss. Despite the score, the team showed great potential and learning moments.

 

Looking Ahead

Next week, our teams will travel to face the challenges posed by St. Johns. We look forward to another week of great effort and team spirit from all our players.

This week, our teams faced off against St Johns with impressive performances across the board. Here's a summary of the thrilling victories:

 

Match Highlights

Soccer: The team showcased their skills, securing a 4-1 victory. Outstanding teamwork and strategy were on full display.

 

Netball A Girls Team: Dominated the court with a decisive 26-8 win. Their coordination and sharp shooting were key to their success.

 

Netball B Mixed Team: Clinched a 3-1 victory in a closely contested match, demonstrating resilience and teamwork.

 

Volleyball Boys: Fought hard for a 2-1 sets win. Their strong serves and spikes made the difference.

 

Volleyball Girls: Swept their match with a 2-0 sets victory, showcasing excellent communication and play execution.

Jump Rope for Heart  - Tuesday 4 June

We are inviting families to join us at 2:15pm in the gym for our annual Jump Rope for Heart Jump Off Event. You can choose to watch, help or even participate and bust out your radical skipping moves !

 

Students will be working in teams and completing a range of different skipping activities. At 2:45pm there will be a demonstration in front of the whole school by our Jump Off Team. The team have been practising some incredible tricks during lunch breaks and are keen to share their expertise with the school.

 

We are asking students to bring a gold coin to donate to support our fundraising efforts for the Heart Foundation.


Cross Country

🏆 Cross Country Team Shines at Lalor District Finals! 🏆

Today, our incredible Cross Country team competed at the Lalor District finals held at Parade College, and we couldn't be prouder! Representing Lalor East in such a prestigious event is a massive achievement, and every one of our athletes deserves a round of applause for their dedication and hard work. 🎉👏

Our students showed tremendous spirit and determination, braving the challenging course and giving it their all. It's a huge honor to be selected to represent Lalor East, and simply completing the race is an achievement worth celebrating. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

 

Special Mention:

A massive congratulations to Aicha Camara, who not only represented our school with pride but also came first place in her category! 🥇 Aicha’s outstanding performance is a testament to her hard work, perseverance, and sportsmanship. We're all incredibly proud of her!
