Sandwich Making With Eat Up!

By Aicha, Tala, Khadija and Mohammad

On Tuesday the 30th of April the 5/6s made sandwiches with the charity EAT UP. We had 1 hour to make 1,000 sandwiches but we did it quickly and we had time to spare. It was Wonder Bread's 30th anniversary, which is the bread company who sponsors EAT UP.  The workers who helped us were Lyndon and Slone. We made sandwiches that had cheese and butter. Some people were making the sandwiches and some people were wrapping the sandwiches.

Our aim was to make 1,000 sandwiches. We worked amazingly and made 1,087 sandwiches in just 40 mins! The people wrapping sandwiches were working so fast that we were in a hurry to get more sandwiches to wrap.

The reason we were making sandwiches was to give to EAT UP so they can give them to other schools for students who forget their lunch. The aim was to make a total of 30,000 sandwiches for EAT UP. We only had to make 1,000 and other schools will help and make 1,000 too. We worked twice as fast with music going on to get hyped up.

Finally, after all our hard work delivering, making and wrapping we finished so as a way to celebrate we made a tunnel with our hands and Ayla ran through it holding the 1000th sandwich. We walked out with smiles on our faces and gave a high five to Lyndon as we walked out the MPC.

We had a really fun time working with EAT UP!! Hopefully we can do it again next year and help them again.
