Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

Our Senior Student Leaders have been doing some amazing work around the school, including supporting school tours, organising the Vinnie Winter Appeal Activities, assisting with sporting events, and beautifying the schoolyard.

I would like to introduce some of the School Leaders Group and share what they love about St Therese's.

I will be on leave from tomorrow, Thursday, June 6th, until Friday, June 14th. Don't hesitate to contact Kim Carter if you have any concerns during my absence.

St Therese's Social Media

The evidence is mounting that our children are not old enough for the challenges of social media, and the effect on their development and mental health is catastrophic. This is another great podcast to assist parents in navigating this landscape. Please take the time to listen.

It has come to our attention that some social media accounts have been created using St Therese's School name (e.g. TikTok). Please note that we are not associated with these accounts and have taken steps to report them - please do not follow or click on any links from these pages.

Grow in the Likeness of God Award.

Each fortnight, I will award a member (or three) from our community this award based on our theme for 2024: Grow in the Likeness of God.

This week's recipients are Lily and Maria.

Lily and Maria decided to raise money for the Vinnes Winter Appeal. Both girls made the items to be sold, promoted the event, set up a stall, and gave up their break time to sell the products. They sold out and raised $182. Thank you for your generous ideas and commitment to helping those less fortunate than us.

Skyler created this amazing artwork showing our Graduate Outcomes. It is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.

Principal Formative Appraisal

As a part of the contract of Employment, each Principal of a Catholic school in the Diocese of Sandhurst must undertake an appraisal. The purpose of an appraisal is to provide the Principal with feedback about their leadership of the school. An appraisal also seeks to improve the professional practice of the Principal through feedback about their leadership of specific areas of school life.

At the end of the appraisal process, the Principal will receive a detailed report about the information gathered, which will support them in shaping their professional goals and practice for the future.

To assist in the process, you will receive an email on June 11 asking you to participate in a short survey. The survey's raw data results are confidential and will be used by the Principal Appraisal Panel in conjunction with other data sets gathered.

COVID and Other Illnesses

We have seen a big increase in the number of students absent with illness in the past two weeks, including the number of notified cases of COVID. Please continue to be vigilant in this space, testing and keeping your children at home when they are unwell.

We appreciate your support in this area.
