LOTE

We’ve been exploring our language topics deeper during the past two weeks in Indonesian. Prep students have been practicing counting to ten and identifying different colours, and have been learning about the mouse deer. Prep students have also learnt about the angklung, an Indonesian instrument, and had a try at playing it.

Students in Years 1 and 2 have been focusing on identifying numbers, and emotions. They are creating a book about themselves and their feelings, showcasing their creativity and language skills.

Years 3 and 4 are learning about time, including how to say digital times and daily activities. They’re using this knowledge to create books about their daily routines.

Years 5 and 6 have been studying cardinal directions, prepositions, and how to describe locations using maps. These skills help them communicate effectively about navigating and understanding different environments.

All of our students are continuing to enjoy their art class, but a special mention goes to the Year 3/4 students who have all now finished their soft toys. Here are just a few of the amazing toys that the students have sewn.

Thank you so much to our helpers for assisting our students in finalising their incredible pieces. They should all be so proud of themselves, as I am proud of them. Their creativity and dedication truly shine through in these wonderful creations.

Exciting Update: Auditions for "Zoom" Underway!

Greetings Yarra Road Community,

Over the past fortnight, Year 5 and 6 students have been showcasing their skills and passion during auditions for our upcoming whole school musical, "Zoom"! It's been nothing short of amazing to witness the enthusiasm and talent that our students bring to the stage.

As we wrap up auditions this week, we're eagerly anticipating the next phase: casting roles! Over the coming week, our team will carefully consider each student's audition to ensure that every role is filled with the perfect fit. It's a challenging task, given the wealth of talent we have at Yarra Road, but we're excited to see our production come together.

Once roles are assigned, students will dive headfirst into rehearsals, eagerly learning their lines, perfecting their choreography, and bringing their characters to life. It's bound to be a journey filled with excitement, growth, and plenty of memorable moments for students across the whole school.

Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this magical journey together. We can't wait to share the joy and creativity of "Zoom" with our entire community.
