Photography Permission
Please ensure you have indicated your consent on the 2026 Photography, Filming and Recording Students Permission Form on Compass by Monday 2nd March.
There are many occasions during the school year when staff photograph, film or record students participating in school activities or events. We do this for many reasons including to celebrate student participation and achievement, showcase particular learning programs, document a student’s learning journey/camps/excursions/sports events etc, communicate with our parents and school community in newsletters, Clyde TV and on classroom media platforms eg: Seesaw.
For further details, you can read the full form on Compass.
As we head into the middle and latter end of Term 1, more and more events will start cropping up, like our first Whole School Assembly, Junior Sports Day and Easter Bonnet Parade, as well as collating photos and videos for Episode 1 of Clyde TV. Any student without photo/video permissions will not be able to be featured in any media covering these events, and any events throughout the year.
2026 Student Leaders
On Monday morning we have our first Whole School Assembly in the gym from 9:10am. Parents, family and friends are all welcome to attend, however we only have a limited amount of seating, but plenty of standing room.
At this assembly we will be presenting the following Student Leaders with their badges.
Please note our Student Representative Council (SRC) will not be presented at this assembly. They will be presented at the next assembly on the 30th March.
Important Reminder
We have noticed that already in our first weeks back at school we have a number of our students being picked up early from school, losing valuable learning time. Not only does this affect these students, our office staff are continuously interrupting teachers in classrooms arranging for these students to be picked up. We ask all parents to make appointments outside of school hours, and to be mindful of the learning of others that they are disrupting.
Foundation Bags
Every year, the Department of Education and Training provides every Foundation student starting at a Victorian government school a bag of engaging resources to celebrate this milestone in their educational journey.
The mix of items are specially designed for students and their families to help them learn and thrive from the start of Term 1.
The 2026 bags include five children’s books, selected by a panel of experts, to spark a lifelong love of reading and to lift students’ literacy outcomes. Each Prep student will receive:
• Chooks in Dinner Suits – written by Diane Jackson Hill and illustrated by Craig Smith
• The Concrete Garden – written and illustrated by Bob Graham
• Frank’s Red Hat – written and illustrated by Sean E Avery
• The Bin Monster – written by Annabelle Hale
• Sharing – written by Aunty Fay Muir and Sue Lawson and illustrated by Leanne Mulgo Watson

School Wide Expected Behaviours
We value all members of our school community being Respectful, Resilient and Responsible. Our students are currently exploring what these behaviours look like, feel like and sound like in lots of different settings at our school including the learning spaces, the playground, the toilets, assemblies and out in our community.
Yard Duty and Supervision
Supervision before school begins at 8.45am. No child should be dropped off at school and left unsupervised prior to this time.
Supervision after school ends at 3.45pm. No child should be left unsupervised in the yard after this time.
If you are unable to drop off or pick your child up during these times you must enrol them into Team Kids our out of school hours service provider.
Child Safe School
The Child Safe Standards are compulsory minimum standards for all Victorian early childhood services and schools, to ensure they are well prepared to protect children from abuse and neglect.
All children have the right to feel safe and to be safe all of the time and at Clyde PS, we pride ourselves on being a child safe environment and have a range of strategies and policies in place to ensure children are protected from harm and abuse.
All staff are currently working through their child safety induction to ensure that we are meeting our responsibilities as a child safe organisation. This is an annual induction which reminds staff of their responsibilities in helping the school to meet Child Safety standards. Copies of all our child safety policies are available on our school website and many are updated annually by our Child Safety Office, Hayley Taylor.
You may also ask Mrs Taylor (via the office) about our school's:
- code of conduct outlining clear expectations for appropriate behaviour by school staff with children currently, which can also be found on our website.
- strategies we use to promote child empowerment and participation, e.g. delivering appropriate education about standards of behaviour for students attending the school, healthy and respectful relationships (including sexuality), resilience and child abuse awareness and prevention.
- procedures for reporting suspected child abuse.
At Clyde PS you can view these expectations, strategies and code of conduct on our school website.
If you have any concerns about child safety at any time, please contact Hayley Taylor, Wellbeing Leader on 5998 5293. Any child safety complaints or concerns are treated seriously. For more information about our school’s complaints process, see our Complaints Policy.
We also welcome your ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing. If you have any suggestions or comments please contact Hayley Taylor.
