SHROVE TUESDAY

Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, is the day before Ash Wednesday. It is the last day before the start of the Lenten season, a period of fasting and repentance that lasts for 40 days. The day is traditionally celebrated by making and eating pancakes as a way to use up foods such as eggs and milk before the start of Lent.

Shrove Tuesday will take place next Tuesday 17th February. We ask students to bring in a gold coin donation for Caritas Australia. Students will be given a pikelet for morning tea to celebrate this special day. If you do not wish for your child to have a pikelet, please email the school office.

This year Ash Wednesday is on the 18th of February. It is the first day of Lent and is the season leading to Easter. Students Years 3 to Year 6 will attend Ash Wednesday Mass at Holy Family Church at 9:10 am. We warmly invite our community to join us.

Kindergarten to Year 2 will have an Ash Wednesday Liturgy at school with their teachers and Father Allan during the day.

MINI VINNIES

We are excited to introduce our Mini Vinnies team for 2026! Through teamwork, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others, these students have put themselves forward, exploring ways to make a positive difference in our school and wider community. From planning outreach activities to learning about social justice and the mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society, they will continue to demonstrate what it means to lead with kindness. We are proud of their enthusiasm and commitment to this cause.

TERM 1 FOCUS - CHARISM OF RESPECT

This term our students have been exploring the Brigidine Charism of Respect, a core value that guides the way we learn, interact and care for one another. The students reflected on what respect looks like in everyday school life, how we speak to each other, how we listen and how we honour the dignity of every person.

Each class worked together to create a display that expresses their understanding of Respect.
