Prep

This term in sport, the Prep students will focus on developing their ability to listen carefully and follow instructions while participating in a range of fun and engaging activities. Students will practise moving safely and confidently both with and without equipment during gameplay. These activities will help build foundational movement skills, improve body awareness, and encourage positive participation in a structured sporting environment.

 

Grade 1/2

This term in sport, the Grade 1 and 2 students will focus on developing team gameplay skills and learning how to share ideas and work cooperatively with others. Students will continue to build on their ability to listen and follow instructions while participating in games and group activities. Through these experiences, students will develop confidence, communication skills, and an understanding of how to work together respectfully during physical activity.

 

Grade 3/4

This term in sport, the Grade 3 and 4 students will be learning how to interact positively with others in a variety of physical activity settings. There will be a strong focus on teamwork, communication, and respectful behaviour during games and group challenges. Students will also practise and refine a range of movement skills, applying them in different situations, particularly through Hockey and Softball activities.

 

Grade 5/6

This term in sport, the Grade 5 and 6 students will demonstrate and further develop their ability to work collaboratively and play fairly in group and team situations. Students will practise specific movement skills and apply them effectively during gameplay, with a focus on Hockey and Softball. Emphasis will be placed on teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, encouraging students to support one another and take responsibility for their actions during physical activity. 

 

Interschool Sports

Interschool sport starts on the 14th of February where the students will compete against other schools in soccer, basketball, tennis and cricket. There is also a modified games group that focuses on skill building. 

 

District Swimming

If you have a child who is a member of a swimming squad you may wish to nominate them for the Maribyrnong Division Swimming Sports on Tuesday March 10 at Brimbank Aquatic and Wellness Centre, 90 Taylor’s Rd, Keilor Downs. Your child is able to nominate for two individual events. You will need to be able to transport your child to and from the event. Please see Mr Dane for more information.
