Welcome to the 2026 school year!
I absolutely love the beginning of a new year, and the freshness and anticipation of all that is to come. As a staff we have been busy planning and preparing for the return of students and families - setting up classrooms, crafting lessons and learning experiences, planning events, and organising admin. But the real joy is in the return of the community. Seeing excited Foundation students arriving for their very first day of school, children reconnecting with friends after not seeing each other for weeks, and parents engaging in happy conversation (perhaps celebrating the return of routine after a long holiday break!), is my absolute favourite part. There is joy, and there is anticipation. The well-known scripture from Jeremiah comes to my mind
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
I don’t know all that is to come in this new year, but what I know without any doubt, is that God does. As we begin the new year, I can’t help but look ahead with great anticipation of the exciting things that God has in store, and look forward to seeing his plans for our community unfold.
We have some wonderful opportunities for connection coming up in our first few weeks!
Meet the Teacher Evening - Thursday 29th January
We look forward to welcoming parents of all our ELC – Year 6 children into our classrooms. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet your child’s classroom teacher, hear some important information about the upcoming year and also a chance to connect with the other parents in the class.
Junior School Assembly
Our Junior School Assemblies are held each Monday morning, starting at 8:55am at the Adelaide West Uniting Church. Parents are always welcome to join us as we begin our week in community together.
Brooklyn Park Welcome Picnic
All Brooklyn Park families are invited to attend our annual welcome picnic. This early evening event is always a lovely time, as families bring a picnic, enjoy some fun and fellowship together. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you, as always, for partnering with us. When we work together, we create the strongest foundation for your child’s success. We encourage you to stay connected to your child’s learning through joining us for school events, volunteering when you’re able, and keeping in touch with teachers. Good communication helps our community to thrive, and we are here to support you as we grow together.
