Wellbeing Report

Stacey Lawler

Assistant Principal

We are excited to share that once again our school has been awarded the 2025 Gold Level Award in the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) program.

This award recognises our strong and consistent approach to creating a positive and respectful learning environment. It reflects the hard work of our students, staff, leadership team and families in promoting clear expectations, inclusive practices and a supportive school culture.

Being recognised at the Gold level for three years in a row, highlights our ongoing commitment to making HHPS a place where everyone feels safe, connected, valued and ready to learn.

So far this year, our students have earned 5,993 badges, with 653 Kaizen Awards presented and 958 positive phone calls made to families. Congratulations to all our students for their outstanding efforts in demonstrating our school-wide expectations of Being Respectful, Being Safe and Being Your Best. We encourage all students to continue this positive momentum throughout the year by consistently displaying our expected behaviours.

Our Year 6 Positive Climate Leaders have also been actively sharing updates during Together on Fridays. They recently spoke about our successful Badge Trade Day held in Week 3 and promoted our upcoming Privilege Clubs in Week 8, which includes our popular cookie decorating, making fairy bread and pizza with a short movie session.

In addition, they have announced our Hero Card winners and shared exciting information about upcoming Term 3 excursions to Smash X Sports Complex and the YMCA Gymnastics Centre that students can attend by trading their badges.

Everyday Counts- The importance of regular school attendance.

Attending school every day ensures students maximise their learning opportunities, establish and maintain friendships and create a sense of connection and belonging.  Missing just one day per fortnight adds up to missing four weeks of school a year.

We prioritise regular school attendance and each day we monitor student’s attendance.

If your child is going to be absent, please ensure you communicate this via Compass.  Our current daily attendance rate is 90.2%.

We understand that there are times when your child will need to miss school but to ensure minimal disruption to their education, please consider scheduling family holidays or medical/dental appointments outside of school time. If your child is well enough to attend but is worried about friendships or schoolwork, please encourage them to come to school. Avoiding school can make these feelings worse and can create a negative patterns of not attending.

If your child is having difficulty attending school, please talk to their homegroup teacher about what supports can be put in place.

Remember, Every Day Counts.
