2026 Students Attitudes to School Survey

Over the coming weeks, students in Years 4–6 will participate in the annual Student Attitudes to School Survey (AToSS). This survey provides students with an opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences about school, including areas such as learning, wellbeing, student voice, and connectedness. The feedback gathered is highly valued and helps us to better understand our students’ experiences, celebrate what is working well, and identify areas for ongoing improvement. The survey will be completed online during school hours, and all responses remain confidential.

Term 2 Inquiry

Throughout Term 2, students have been engaged in rich Inquiry learning that integrates History, Geography, and Civics & Citizenship. Across the school, students have explored their family history and culture, how communities have changed over time, examined the features and significance of different places, and developed an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of citizens within a community. Through investigations, discussions, and collaborative projects, students have strengthened their ability to ask questions, analyse information, and make connections between the past, present, and future.

ICAS Assessments at our School

We are pleased to offer students in Years 2 - 6, the opportunity to participate in the ICAS (International Competitions and Assessments for Schools) this year. ICAS is a globally recognised assessment program that allows students to challenge themselves in the following subject areas: Digital Technology, English, Science, Spelling and Mathematics. ICAS is designed to go beyond the standard classroom curriculum by encouraging higher-order thinking, problem-solving and the application of knowledge in unfamiliar contexts. It provides students with the chance to extend their learning, build confidence and develop resilience as they tackle complex and engaging questions.

Each student receives a personalised report that highlights their strengths and areas for growth.

These are optional assessments and there is no obligation for any student to participate.

Please see Compass for further information about the tests and costs involved.

Upcoming Curriculum Day- Planning Day

In the last week of term- Tuesday 23rd June, we will have a Curriculum Day (student-free day). This allocated day provides teachers with valuable time to engage in collaborative planning and professional learning. Staff will work together to review student learning data, refine curriculum plans, and prepare engaging learning experiences to support student growth and achievement for Semester Two.

Academic Reports

At the end of this term, academic reports will be provided to families.

They include:

  • Achievement levels against the Victorian Curriculum standards
  • Progress over time
  • Effort, behaviour and work habits

These will be accessible on Compass.
