Term 2 - The Learning Journey...

As we reach the halfway point of Term 2, it is hard to believe how quickly the term is progressing. The cooler mornings are setting in, yet there remains a wonderful sense of energy and purpose throughout our school.

One of the things I enjoy most is visiting classrooms and seeing our students actively engaged in their learning. Whether they are tackling new challenges, collaborating with their peers, or proudly sharing their achievements, it is clear that our students continue to demonstrate KAIZEN each and every day. We are incredibly proud of the way our students have maintained their focus and enthusiasm throughout the term, supported by our staff's dedication and the ongoing partnership we share with our families.

Education Week:

In Week 5, we proudly celebrated Education Week with the theme "Showcase Your School."  One of the highlights was our "Future Me" dress-up day, where students came dressed as the careers and professions they aspire to pursue. It was particularly exciting to see so many students dressed as teachers. We are incredibly proud to know that our students view our teachers as their roles and one day inspire to be a educator.

Not to be outdone, our teachers joined in the fun by dusting off their old school uniforms and taking part in a "Back to School" dress-up day. There were plenty of laughs and conversations as students and staff shared stories and compared school experiences from different generations.

We rounded out the week with our Learning Showcase, which provided students with the opportunity to proudly share their learning journey with their families. We sincerely thank our parents and carers who took time out of their busy day to visit classrooms, connect with their children and celebrate the learning growth and achievements.

Hard Court Cover:

We are delighted to share that our Hard Court Cover Project is now officially complete. After a lengthy journey, it has certainly been worth the wait, and we could not be happier with the finished result.

Our new space provides our school with another versatile area that our school community can enjoy in all weather conditions. Whether it is for play, physical education, Together on Fridays, or any of our special events, this space will be a valuable asset for many years to come. One of the standout features is our school logo, proudly displayed on the structure. It serves as a wonderful representation of our school identity.

Digital Devices and Social Media:

As technology continues to play an important role in our children's lives, we encourage families to regularly monitor and discuss their child's online activity. While digital platforms can provide opportunities for learning, creativity and connection, it is important that students use technology safely, respectfully and in age-appropriate ways.

As we know, many social media platforms have minimum age requirements that exceed primary school age, and we encourage parents and carers to be aware of the apps and online spaces their children are accessing. Open conversations at home about online behaviour, digital footprints, respectful communication and cyber safety can help children make positive choices when using technology.

Wearing our Uniform with Pride:

I would like to thank our students and families for the pride they continue to show in wearing our school uniform. It is pleasing to see so many students consistently wearing their school logo uniform items and representing our school community so positively.

As we move into the colder winter months, students are welcome to wear additional jackets to and from school. Where possible, we encourage these to be in our school colours, particularly navy blue. Students may also wear a beanie on colder mornings, with our school beanie available as the preferred option. With Pride of Place being one of the guiding Principles, we thank our students for continuing to show the key connections to our School.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership in making our school such a positive and connected community. We hope you enjoy our refreshed newsletter format and the opportunity to celebrate our students' learning, achievements, and experiences.

We look forward to sharing the remainder of a successful Term 2 with you.
