Mentoring a Pre-Service Teacher in 2026

As usual the universities are reaching out to schools to secure placements for the 2026 crop of pre-service teachers.  If you are an experienced teacher who is open to mentoring a pre-service teacher in 2026 please let Kim know so your name can be put on the list for a placement.  Teachers will be paired with a pre-service teacher based on the requriements of their placement and whether they are a French/ English teacher.

3-6 Spelling Scope and Sequence

This year is the first time that we will be following this scope and sequence.

As you work through the scope and sequence with your students, if you have any suggested adjustments, please add these as a comment.

N'oubliez pas dans votre planning cette semaine de laisser une session et demie la semaine prochaine (semaine 4) pour la compétition des illustrations pour les années 3 à 6.  S'ils ne complètent pas leurs dessins dans ce temps, ils peuvent l'amener à la maison et le compléter.

iPads and PAT Testing: Weeks 4-5

Just a quick update on iPads, as we are well aware that PAT testing is scheduled for the next 2 weeks, requiring iPads in all classrooms! Simeon and Jenn are working through the iPads as quickly as they can, with a particular focus on ensuring Years 3 and 5 are set up for NAPLAN as soon as possible.  See below for information about your year level's iPads:

  • Foundation/Year 1:ETA Tuesday week 4.  Please schedule your PAT for later in Week 4 or in Week 5
  • Year 2: ETA end of week 3.  Check in with Simeon at the end of week 3
  • Year 3: Ready end of day Tuesday 10 Feb. Available for collection from IT as of Wednesday 11 Feb.
  • Year 4: ETA end of week 3.  Check in with Simeon at the end of week 3
  • Year 5: Ready but waiting on a newly wired charging cart for new-style iPads.  Will be brought to your classrooms by end of week 3.
  • Year 6: Ready end of day Tuesday 10 Feb. Available for collection from IT as of Wednesday 11 Feb.
